Cold Pod Guide is a static informational website. We collect as little as possible, and this page explains exactly what that means.

What we collect directly

This site has no accounts, no newsletter and no comment system, so we do not collect personal information from you directly. If you email us, we will have your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we will use it only to reply.

Hosting and server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, the pages requested, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. This is used for security and to understand aggregate traffic, and it is not used to identify individual visitors.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own.

However, when you click a link to The Cold Pod store, that site will set cookies of its own — including the affiliate tracking cookie that credits your purchase to this site. Those cookies are controlled by The Cold Pod and its e-commerce platform (Shopify), not by us. Their privacy policy governs what they collect and how long they keep it.

Affiliate cookies are standard practice and are what allows a site like this to earn a commission on a purchase you make after clicking through. If you prefer not to have them set, you can block third-party cookies or use your browser's private mode.

Since we hold almost none, the practical answer is usually that requests should go to the store you purchased from. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will do it.

Children

This site is aimed at adults. Cold water immersion is not suitable for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
